As one of Russia's biggest and busiest cities, there is plenty on offer when it comes to shopping in Novosibirsk. Within the very heart of Novosibirsk are a number of bustling markets, where there are plenty of bargains and Russian souvenirs to be found if you search hard enough. Always popular and making good gifts are wooden sculptures or dolls, and pictures created of the peeled bark of birch trees.

There is also an extremely modern supermarket located at the start of the Vokzalnaya Magistral (Supermarket Khoroshy), which is close to the railway station and open 24 hours a day, more than meeting the shopping requirements for those self catering in Novosibirsk.

Novosibirsk really is one of the best cities in Russia for shopping and many visitors will find that they go home with heavy suitcases, crammed full with new clothes, souvenirs of Siberia, travel gear and books. The best selection of shops is located along the Vokzalnaya Magistral, while there is also good shopping opportunities awaiting along the Krasny Prospekt and all around the Ploshchad Lenina.

Recently opened on the Krasny Prospekt is the Royal Park shopping mall, which is always a good place to shop in Novosibirsk and is littered with cafes, should you need a little sustenance when your bags begin to weigh you down.
